Arsenal footballer Theo Walcott’s wife Melanie Slade became the face of the Children’s Air Ambulance.
The 24 year-old, then pregnant with the couple’s first child, returned to her home city of Southampton to become patron of the charity.
The Children’s Air Ambulance is the UK’s first dedicated air service for critically-ill babies and children.
She toured the Southampton General Hospital Paediatric Intensive Care Unit with doctors, before having a look at the helicopter pad where the emergency choppers land.
Melanie, who happily showed off her bump to photographers, told reporters she was very keen to support the vital work carried out by the charity.
